How seasons work

Path of Idle: Old Gods Rising is a single-player seasonal game. According to the official feature description:

“Each season features unique new content with independent save files. You can embark on any seasonal journey at any time.”

That means:

  • Unique content per season — seasonal mechanics, challenges or loot not found in the base game
  • Independent saves — a season runs in its own save, separate from your main town and Godsworn
  • Join at any time — seasons are not time-locked in the same way as live-service seasons; you can start any seasonal journey whenever you want

Post-launch rollout

The developer notes that seasonal content will be gradually added after launch. As of 16 August 2026, the game had shipped patches 1.0.2, 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 focusing on balance and quality-of-life, with no Season 1 date announced yet. The exact first-season content and start date are 待确认 (to be confirmed) by the developer.

What this means for players

Because seasonal saves are independent, you can experiment with new classes, gear and builds in a season without risking your main town — similar in spirit to season ladders in other games, but fully single-player. For how seasons fit into the wider progression, see gameplay modes and town building.
